About Right to Play & Giving

Every Locke & King timepiece proudly proclaims “Onward & Upward,” our reminder to you to Make Your Own Time and do so with a sense of Play.

But we also know that for a great many there are great obstacles to play. It is for this reason that Locke & King are proud corporate partners of Right to Play.

Protect. Educate. Empower.

…It's what Right To Play does for 2.35 million children each year, and it’s what Locke & King is dedicated to supporting.

THEY PLAY FOR CHANGE

Right To Play is harnessing one of the most powerful and fundamental forces in every child’s life, the power of play. Their programs protect, educate, and empower children to heal from the harsh realities of war and abuse, to change their behavior and protect themselves from disease, to go to school, graduate and create a better future.

To protect, educate and empower children to rise above adversity using the power of play.

A WORLD OF UPRISERS

Right To Play brings the power of play to 15 countries, each with their own set of challenges for children.

In these countries, Right To Play empowers girls to resist early marriage and to continue their education. They teach children how to protect themselves from diseases like HIV and malaria. They help child laborers return to school. And they inspire refugee youth living in dire camp conditions to heal and succeed.

Indigenous Programs

In Canada, Locke & King specifically supports the Indigenous Programs administered by Right to Play.

Right To Play partners with more than 70 Indigenous communities to improve access to community-led, culturally relevant play-based programs that empower First Nations, Inuit, and Métis youth to build life skills.

The journey started in 2010 when Right to Play was invited by the Chiefs of Moose Cree and Sandy Lake First Nations, alongside the Chiefs of Ontario, to support programs in their communities.

Over more than a decade, they have developed a program model that grounds their commitment to walk in partnership with Indigenous communities and puts reconciliation into action.

OUR WORK IS PLAY

It's at the heart of everything we do.

Our goal is to empower children with the confidence and knowledge they need to rise above adversity and become positive forces of change.
